Ace was the captain of the Spade Pirates and one of the most powerful pirates in the world. He was also a skilled user of the Devil Fruit power, Mera Mera no Mi. He was the son of Gol D. Ace and Portgas D. Rouge, and the adoptive brother of Luffy. He was born as Ace, and his mother gave him up for execution due to the fact that she was a pirate herself. When he was two years old, his mother was captured and jailed, but she managed to escape and give birth to Luffy in secret. After her capture, Ace was taken in by Monkey D. Garp as his ward. Twelve years later, Ace left paragraph after learning that Luffy had become a pirate. His dream was to find One Piece and become King of the Pirates.
Ace eventually became infamous under the alias “Fire Fist” Ace. He had a bounty of 550,000,000 berries, making him one of the most wanted men in the world. He was also recognized as one of the worst criminals in history along with Gol D. Roger, Shiki, Marshall D. Teach, and Kaido. During his time as a pirate, he became known as one of the “Four Emperors” who ruled over the New World alongside Whitebeard, Blackbeard, and Shanks. After Whitebeard’s death at Marineford, Ace tried to take his place as one of the Emperors; however, he lost his life in battle against Akainu before he could achieve this goal.
